Honors: Today we will begin our Non-Fiction Lit Circles. It will be a workshop with a half hour focused reading and then discussion opportunity at the end of class. You will receive a 5 point grade each day on how well you use your time in class. Discussion Questions/ Log Due Date: April 25th Extra Credit Due Date: April 15th
CP1: Period 6: We are finishing up Gamma Rays on Monday and will do a short assignment on it. We will then read The Pearl and finish up by vacation. There will be a Symbolism Project on this book.

Honors: We will be entering this week into a Non-Fiction Literature Circle unit. This will culminate with a research paper based on a topic within the book the circle reads. For example, if you choose the book 1776 by McCollough, the topic of your research paper will be something from the American Revolution.
The lit circles will be 3 weeks long and comprise of 3-4 members. You will keep and log of discussion and then aid each other in choosing an engaging topic for research.
CP1: We have a Romeo and Juliet exam on Tuesday. It was supposed to be today, Monday, but I decided during the weekend that we are not ready. Be ready for Tuesday! After we finish Romeo and Juliet we will be doing a short novel to be announced.
CP2: We are currently working on a short comparison paper on Romeo and Juliet Act 3 Scene 1. We will finish today or tomorrow and continue on with Act 4.

Honors: By today, Monday 03-14 Ethan Frome should be read completely. Your Socratic Circles were wonderful on Friday! We will be reading a short play called The Effect of Gamme Rays of Man in the Moon Marigolds this week and next in class. You will have a short analysis due at the end.
CP1: We will be reading Act 5 this week and beginning to review for your Romeo and Juliet Exam. Date of exam will be announced on Wednesday!
CP2: We will finish Acts 3 and 4 this week of Romeo and Juliet. We will do a storyboard for Act 4 this week.

Honors: We are currently halfway through Ethan Frome. This weekend we will finish the novel and a vocabulary quiz will be this week. This week we will also be writing a short Character Anaylsis on Ethan or Zeena. Final draft will be due Friday.
CP1: We are beginning Act 4 of Romeo and Juliet this week! Two weeks left and we will wrap up Romeo and Juliet. There will be a test soon after with short essays and quote analysis.
CP2: Performances this week of Act 3.1. This is worth 40 points- a major grade! We will then continue on with Act 3 of Romeo and Juliet.
