Please choose a song lyric that you feel could be a poem. Lyrics can be very poetic, and I want you to REALLY think about the song you choose. The song should use poetic devices and should be appropriate. Don't just choose a song because you like it. If I do not see the poetry in the words, that will reflect in the credit you receive.
After you paste the lyrics into a comment, then please
1. Explain why you choose it
2. Be sure to say who you are

I chose these lyrics because these are usually the thought that run through my mind when I am sad or mad. To me these lyrics refer to someone being lied to and or being used.

"You see the smile that's on my mouth
ReplyDeleteIt's hiding the words that don't come out
And all of my friends who think that I'm blessed
They don't know my head is a mess
No, they don't know who I really am
And they don't know what
I've been through like you do
And I was made for you..."
I chose this song because i love this song and the lyrics have a lot of meaning/

Have You Ever Seen The Rain by Creedence Clearwater Revival
ReplyDeleteSomeone told me long ago, there's a calm before the storm.
I know, and it's been comin' for some time.
When it's over, so they say, it'll rain a sunny day.
I know, shinin' down like water.
I want to know, have you ever seen the rain?
I want to know, have you ever seen the rain
comin' down on a sunny day?
Yesterday, and days before, sun is cold and rain is hard.
I know, been that way for all my time.
'Til forever on it goes through the circle fast and slow,
I know, and it can't stop, I wonder.
I want to know, have you ever seen the rain?
I want to know, have you ever seen the rain
comin' down on a sunny day?
I chose these song lyrics because I feel they represent life as a whole very well. There is calm before the storm in more than just a thunderstorm, in life. Sometimes even the most comforting things can seem cold and harsh but it will always pass and there will be a new day.
Life is a cycle and you have to take the good with the bad.

ReplyDelete"you had to do it all alone
ReplyDeletemake a living, make a home
must have been as hard as it could be
and when I couldn't sleep at night
scared things wouldn't turn out right
you would hold my hand and sing to me"-Miley Cyrus Butterfly Fly Away
I chose this because of its rythmic pattern of AABCCB and because it reminds me of my dad- Lorilee Mayberry
You make me smile like the sun
ReplyDeleteFall out of bed
Sing like a bird
Dizzy in my head
Spin like a record
Crazy on a Sunday night
You make me dance like a fool
Forget how to breathe
Shine like gold
Buzz like a bee
Just the thought of you can drive me wild
Ohh you make me smile
I chose these lyrics because the words are very meaningful and touching. The lyrics really do describe how someone could feel about a girl or a guy. The lyrics really speak to me which is one reason why i like them. Another reason why i chose this was because i do believe it could be a poem.
-Coleman Barnes
" And when the broken hearted people living in the world agree. There will be an answer, let it be."-------------- This is to me somewhat of poetic to me because it is lifter upper for your feelings. so this quote from the song " Let it be " really says if theirs a problem theirs always an answer that will fix it all.------Jacob Smith cp1.
ReplyDeleteBrittni Diroma , "when your plans unravel in the sand , what would you wish for if you had one chance" . I chose those lyrics because they show sympathy & feelings like poems do .
ReplyDeleteIn the end we're all just chalklines on the concrete drawn only to be washed away,
ReplyDeletefor the time that I have been given, I am what I am.
I think that this excerpt from the song "Never enough" by Five Finger Death Punch is poetic because its a metaphor that represents how sad life can seem to some people

i chose this song because, like most peotry, its a metephor for something, this song is about what happens when you do drugs, how they destroy your life and control you
-Drew Webster
I chose the chorus lyrics to the song "Giving Up The Gun" by Vampire Weekend:
ReplyDelete"Your sword’s grown old and rusty
Burnt beneath the rising sun
It’s locked up like a trophy
Forgetting all the things it’s done
And though it’s been a long time
You’re right back where you started from
I see it in your eyes
That now you’re giving up the gun"
I feel the most significant poetic device present in these lyrics is metaphor, as the entire first verse is a metaphor that could symbolize the subject's deteriorating bravery or valor. The lyrics also have a simile in the third line of the first verse. The lyrics have a rhyme scheme, as well: A B C B.
These lyrics are as poetic as they are a pleasure to listen to!

"What have I got to do to make you love me
ReplyDeleteWhat have I got to do to make you care
What do I do when lightning strikes me
And I wake to find that you're not there
What do I do to make you want me
What have I got to do to be heard
What do I say when it's all over
Sorry seems to be the hardest word"
-Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word, Elton John
I just feel like when I write out these lyrics, they LOOK like a poem. There's the rhyme scheme, and the repetition of "What have I got to do" and "What do I do." Though this is only a piece of the song, the entire thing feels like a poem to me. As do a lot of other pieces by Elton John.

"You & I could be like Sonny & Cher
honey & bears
You & I could be like aladdin & jasmine"
The lyrics are from a song called By Chance(You & I) by J.R.A. I chose these lyrics because it uses allusion and similes to express how the artist feels about his girlfriend. The allusion is "You and I could be like Sonny and Cher." This line is aluding to Sonny and Cher, an American pop duo in the 1960-1970's. The line that uses a simile is "You and I could be like Aladdin and Jasmine." This line is comparing Aladdin and Jasmine, from the disney movie Aladdin, to the artist and his girlfriend destined to be together.
"You're only as tall as your heart will let you be and you're only as small as the world will make you seem and when the going gets rough and you feel like you may fall. Just look on the brightside your roughly six feet tall" - nevershoutnever On the brightside
ReplyDeleteI chose it because i think it tells everyone that the world will put you down, but if you really think in a positive way, were all powerful in our own way.
-Julia Daly
" If there's no one beside you when your soul embarks
ReplyDeleteThen I'll follow you into the dark."
-I Will Follow You Into The Dark by: Death Cab For Cutie
I chose this song lyric because it had a very strong meaning to it. The meaning that I got from the lyric was love and friendship will never fade even through separation and\or death.

Syndicate Lyrics:)
ReplyDeleteHalfway around the world
Lies the one thing that you want
Buried in the ground, hundreds of miles down
First thing that arises in your mind while you awake
Bending you til you break
Let me hold you now
Baby close your eyes
Don't open til the morning light
Baby don't forget
You haven't lost it all yet
Don't know what your made of
Til the one thing that you want
To come in with the dawn and suddenly changes
Monday, syndicate me, its everyone the same
But all we've lost to the flame
Listen to me now
Baby close your eyes
Don't open til the morning light
Don't ever forget
We haven't lost it all yet
All we know for sure
Is all that we are fighting for
Baby don't forget
We haven't lost it all yet
Someday when this is over
We mix it up, no answer
For now its when I hold her
We are closer, we are closer
We are closer, we are closer
Baby close your eyes
Don't open til the morning light
Don't ever forget
We haven't lost it all yet
And all we know for sure
Is all that we are fighting for
Baby don't forget
We haven't lost it all yet
We are closer
we are closer
(We haven't lost it all yet)
Now we are closer
(We haven't lost it all yet)
We are closer
I choose this song because it is showing that a couple is having trouble staying together and going threw a very tough time, they are trying to comfort eachothere with all they have left, and love eachother like they always will! These lyrics arelike poetry because poetry is very poetic and hearttouching and this song is doing exactly that. passionate and heartwellming!

"'Cause you can't jump the track, we're like cars on a cable
ReplyDeleteAnd life's like an hourglass, glued to the table"
- Breathe (2 a.m.) Anna Nalick
I chose this song lyric because what is says about life is very true. Comparing life to an hourglass that is always losing sand is something that is important to think about, since there is no way to get back time that has passed.
-Allison Daley-
You're gonna go far kid
ReplyDeleteWith a thousand lies
And a good disguise
Hit ‘em right between the eyes
Hit ‘em right between the eyes
When you walk away
Nothing more to say
See the lightning in your eyes
See ‘em running for their lives
Slowly out of line
And drifting closer in your sights
So play it out I’m wide awake
It’s a scene about me
There’s something in your way
And now someone is gonna pay
And if you can’t get what you want
Well it’s all because of me
I used this part because it ryhmes uses an allitteration and some assonances
Also when you lisen to the song the words seem to belong together in that form
Drops of Jupiter By: Train
ReplyDeleteNow that she's back in the atmosphere
With drops of Jupiter in her hair, hey
She acts like summer and walks like rain
Reminds me that there's a time to change, hey
Since the return from her stay on the moon
She listens like spring and she talks like June, hey, hey
But tell me, did you sail across the sun?
Did you make it to the Milky Way
To see the lights all faded
And that heaven is overrated?
Tell me, did you fall for a shooting star?
One without a permanent scar
And then you missed me
While you were looking for yourself out there?
I chose these song lyrics because they have a very strong and touching meaning to them. They also use a lot of poetic devices.
-Nick Romanovicz
Live your life by T.I feat Rhianna
ReplyDelete"You're gonna be a shinin' star
In fancy clothes and fancy cars
And then you'll see you're gonna go far
'Cause everyone knows just who you are"
"Hey, never mind what haters say
Ignore 'em 'til they fade away
Amazin' they ungrateful
After all the game I gave away
Safe to say I paved the way
For you cats to get paid today
You still be wastin' days away
Now had I never saved the day
Consider them my protégé
Homage I think they should pay
Instead of bein' gracious
They violate in a major way
I never been a hater
Still I love 'em in a crazy way
Some say they sold the yay'
And know they couldn't get work on Labor Day"
I chose this song cause it says you just got to live your life and dont worry about what other people say or think about you and becuase it could be a peom.
-Zachary Peterson
'And now I know why all the trees change in the fall
ReplyDeleteI know that you were on my side even when I was wrong
And I love you for giving me your eyes
For staying back and watching me shine
And I didnt know if you knew so I'm taking this chance to say
I had the best day with you today.'
-The Best Day by Taylor Swift
I chose these lyrics because they have meaning and feeling just like a poem. These lyrics also have a rhyme scheme:ABCDEE.
-Tori Carter , D class
I picked the song Til I collapse by Eminem because it is constantly using different types of poetic devices. Yo left, yo left, yo left right left
ReplyDeleteYo left, yo left, yo left right left
Yo left, yo left, yo left right left
Yo left, yo left, yo left right left
[Verse #1:]
Till I collapse I’m spilling these raps long as you feel em
Till the day that I drop you'll never say that I'm not killing them
Cause when I am not then I am stop pinning them
And I am not hip-hop and I’m just not Eminem.
Subliminal thoughts when I'm stop sending them women are caught in webs spin and hauk venom
Adrenaline shots of penicillin could not get the illing to stop.
This song uses Imagery and repetition over and over again. It also uses metaphors and similes comparing different things.
-David Mauro
"I can't be still.
ReplyDeleteI can't be tied.
The only time I feel alive is
When the wind fills my sail
Riding on the lifelong swell.
Let my heart take me
Where it wants to go.
That's the soul of a sailor."
-Kenny Chesney
"Soul of a Sailor"
I chose these lyrics because they describe the way I feel perfectly. I am an avid sailor, so these lyrics really speak to me. When I was reading these lyrics after I wrote them down, I realized that they could easily be a poem that Kenny Chesney just decided to put to music. In my mind, they have such a poetic quality. The meaning behind the lyrics is really none other than describing the way that sailors-such as myself and Kenny Chesney-feel.
(Allison Beggs-D period)
Okay, so I am not really sure if I'm doing this right, or if this is where I am suppose to post it...but I'm giving it a shot.
ReplyDeleteI chose the song Mad World by Gary Jules. I put more than one lyric because I don't think it makes sense with only one, but it still goes together.
"Went to school and I was very nervous
No one knew me, no one knew me
Hello teacher, tell me, what's my lesson?
Look right through me, look right through me"
I chose those lyrics for a few different reasons. One of them was because we just started school and I thought it fit well. There is also some rhyming in there, but I think the meaning of those lyrics are the most important. So, let's say it's a student starting high school. They go to school very nervous, new people and a new place. They are asking the teacher "what's my lesson?" I also think it means they are asking for guidance or direction because it says "look right through me, look right through me" meaning this student wants the teacher to see that he is nervous and wants some comfort knowing that someone understands him and he's not alone. It also doesn't even have to be a student, it could be talking about anyone, when it says "hello teacher, tell me, what's my lesson" it could be talking about a higher power, like God as the teacher. I believe that many challenges in life are also lessons in life. "tell me, what's my lesson" could mean a person is just kind of stuck in life and doesn't know what to do, so he is asking God what he needs to do next.
I don't know if this made any sense to you at all, or if it was what you were looking for...sorry it's so long, but I do think deep!
-Eilis M. Flaherty
Well the first frame finds her running
ReplyDeleteBut the night pushes her deep within the tunnel
She camouflages herself in dayglo paint
And she sings her love songs through a funnel
And she clings to the walls like a cat who calls
The shots for life and for death
Wearing nothing but the make-up she uses
To try and cover up for herself
Well if she can't hide her sword
She gives no terms for surrender
'cause she's living the third world war
She swings on a vine across the state line
They measured the length of her skid
She never goes back to do something she didn't
Or undo something she did
Smoke streams from the street
And the night is complete
With a long and fiery belch
She's just another orphan annie cartoon and a raquel welch
She rides like caesar, brandishing a whip
On the hood of his squad car
As the siren wails she silently sails
Leaving footprints in the tar
Oh she breaks with the dawn
And by morning she's gone
Leaving nothing but another night
I chose these song lyrics because there are numerous examples of imagery, similes, and symbolism within the lines. I feel that the theme of the phrases is that people commit actions they know they shouldn't in order to squeeze every drop out of excitment out of life. Plus, the song has a lot of meaning to it and can tell the truth about human nature.

Funhouse by Pink
ReplyDeleteI dance around this empty house
Tear us down, throw you out
Screaming down the halls
Spinning all around and now we fall
Pictures framing up the past
Your taunting smirk behind the glass
This museum full of ash
Once a tickle, now a rash
This used to be a Funhouse
But now it's full of evil clowns
It's time to start the countdown
I'm gonna burn it down, down, down
I'm gonna burn it down
This particular song could very well be a poem if you took the music out. The song is done in a rhyme pattern. The artist Pink is comparing her life growing up to an empty house. This Poem is a big metaphor, which something poets usually do in there poems.
I can hear the sounds of the city
ReplyDeleteSunrise and set are the same to me
A hesitating pulse is good company
And my reflection offers no apology
But who said that I wasn't right?
And I've lived for years without a life
Don't have a soul on my side
Still ridiculed despite how hard that I have tried
Close yet far
Drop me a line and tell me how the hell you are
And I'll tip my hat to those who can't believe it's me
Though I never never never ever wanted this to be
Close yet far by CKY
I choose this song because its about a guy who no one knows the real him and every one is surprised when he acts differently one day. This can relate to me alot.
-Kory A. Sylvia
“I watched from a distance as you made life your own. every sky was your own kind of blue and I wanted to know how that would feel and you made it so real. you showed me something that I couldn’t see you opened my eyes and made my believe. you lift my feet off the ground you spin me around you make me crazier”
ReplyDeleteCrazier by Taylor Swift
I chose this song because almost every line had some aspect of imagery. Also I liked the positive message of how someone changed her life for the better. The theme reminded me of a poem.
-Kristen Eckman
Looking for something I've never seen
ReplyDeleteAlone and I'm in between
The place that I'm from and
The place that I'm in
A city I've never been
I found a friend or should I say foe
Said there's a few things you should know
We don't want you to see
We come and we go
Here today, gone tomorrow
Were only taking turns
Holding this world
It's how it's always been
When you're older, you will understand
i chose these lyrics because they show that eventually all things will change or end and we cannot stop that. each life or relationship will end and although we might make a imprint in someone elses life we will most likely not make a difference in the world. it also shows that the older you become the more you know and the more you experience.
-holly sessler
"black bird singing in the dead of night
ReplyDeletetake these broken wings and learn to fly
all your life
you were only waiting for this momnent to arise
blackbird singing in the dead of night
take these sunken eyes and learn to see
all your life
you were only waiting for this moment to be free
blackbird fly, blackbird fly
into the light of the dark black night
blackbird fly, black bird fly
into the light of the dark black night
blackbird singing in the dead of night
take these broken wings and learn to fly
all your life
you were only waiting for this moment to arise
you were only waiting for this moment to arise
you were only waiting for this moment to arise"
The song i chose is Blackbird by The Beatles. I chose this song because for one it was very poetic, beautiful, and filled with wonderous emotion. Also it showed the beauty of nature through the eyes of a mere little blackbird. Another reason is that it shows with a little help, anyone can accomplish anything in the world; for example a baby blackbird learning to fly and see. There was also rhyme scheme in verses 1 and 2: A B C B. And finally, I really like The Beatles and in my opition they are one of the greatest bands.
-Andrew Buley
"Can we pretend that airplanes
ReplyDeleteIn the night sky
Are like shooting stars
I could really use a wish right now wish right now, wish right now"
Airplanes-B.o.B
I chose this song because it could be a poem. I contains similies and anaologies. It also has a deeper meaning than it appears.
-Jesse Parks
With every passing moment
ReplyDeleteThoughts of you run through my head
Every time that I'm near you
I realize that you're heaven sent, baby
I think you're truly something special
Just what my dreams are really made of
Let's stay together, you and me boy
There's no one like you around
Oh baby
I chose this song because it describes how i feel about someone. it brings feelings back that i thought i got over. It uses a hyperbole when it saays "i realize that your heaven sent, baby".
Space Bound by Eminem
ReplyDeleteI'm a space-bound rocketship and your heart's the moon
And I'm aimin' right at you
Right at you
250,000 miles on a clear night in June
And I'm aimin' right at you
Right at you, Right at you
I chose this verse from this song for a couple of reasons. One it's a good song. Two, because its like a poem. It rhymes and it uses metaphors. He's comparing himself to a rocket and the girl he likes to the moon.
Tim Faucett
Eminem-Stan
ReplyDeletesee I'm just like you in a way
I never knew my father neither;
he used to always cheat on my mom and beat her
I can relate to what you're saying in your songs
so when I have a shitty day, I drift away and put 'em on
cause I don't really got shit else so that shit helps when I'm depressed
I even got a tattoo of your name across the chest
Sometimes I even cut myself to see how much it bleeds
It's like adrenaline, the pain is such a sudden rush for me
See everything you say is real, and I respect you cause you tell it
My girlfriend's jealous cause I talk about you 24/7
But she don't know you like I know you Slim, no one does
She don't know what it was like for people like us growin up
You gotta call me man, I'll be the biggest fan you'll ever lose
Sincerely yours, Stan -- P.S.
We should be together too.
I chose this song because it is the only song that reallu shows a differnt side of eminem. it shows that it isnt all that great to be famous. it also has a lot of poetic devices.
wonderwall-oasis
ReplyDeleteToday is gonna be the day
That they're gonna throw it back to you
By now you should've somehow
Realized what you gotta do
I don't believe that anybody
Feels the way I do about you now
Backbeat the word was on the street
That the fire in your heart is out
I'm sure you've heard it all before
But you never really had a doubt
I don't believe that anybody feels
The way I do about you now
And all the roads we have to walk along are winding
And all the lights that lead us there are blinding
There are many things that I would
Like to say to you
I don't know how
Because maybe
You're gonna be the one who saves me
And after all
You're my wonderwall
i chose these lyrics because they are very meaningful.he puts what he wants to say in a differant way and he really shows how he feels..similar to poetry.also, instead of saying something like.."its going to be hard to get to where we want" he says.."And all the roads we have to walk along are winding
And all the lights that lead us there are blinding"
-paige rossi
Shadow of the day - linkin park
ReplyDeleteI close both locks below the window
I close both blinds and turn away
Sometimes solutions aren't so simple
Sometimes good bye's the only way
[Chorus]
And the sun will set for you
The sun will set for you
And the shadow of the day
Will embrace the world in grey
And the sun will set for you
[End Chorus]
In cards and flowers on your window
Your friends all plead for you to stay
Sometimes beginnings aren't so simple
Sometimes good bye's the only way
I chose this song because it is packed with tons of imagery, similes, metaphors, and symbolism. It could very easily be made into a poem.
- Caelon Smith
"Step by step, heart to heart, left right left
ReplyDeleteWe all fall down like toy soldiers
Bit by bit, torn apart, we never win
But the battle wages on for toy soldiers"
-Like Toy Soldiers by Eminem
I chose this song because it has a lot of symbolism in it. It basically says that no matter how much people fight they don't gain anything but they lose a lot. They fight over and over again and nothing comes out of it but they keep going and slowly things get worse and worse for them. Don't take this wrong though, I'm not a violent or depressed person I just really like Eminem and I think that this song has a lot of meaning to it that's hard to explain
-Sienna Condon
They Tell you where you need to go
ReplyDeleteTell you when you need to leave
They Tell you what you need to know
Tell you who you need to be
But everything inside you know
There's more than what you've heard
i chose these song lyrics because its really true about growing up .
-Kayla Klim
My friends just can't understand this new me,
ReplyDeleteThat's understandable man, but just think how bananas you'd be,
You'd be an animal too, if you were trapped in this fame and caged in it like a zoo.
i chose these lyrics because it could be a poem because it rhymes and shows a poetic divice such as a simile. eminem is saying he feels traped in a cage because the music he was producing wasnt getting the fame it used to
-nick eaton
"While we're on the subject, could we change the subject now?
ReplyDeleteI was knocking on your ear but you were always out.
Looking towards the future, we were begging for the past,
Well we knew we had the good things but those never seemed to last." -Modest Mouse
I chose these lyrics from the song "Missed the Boat" by Modest Mouse for a couple of reasons. For one thing, though written down it doesn't appear so, they contain the rhyme scheme: AABB. Also, in the second line, a metaphor comparing an ear with a door was used. These lyrics even hold a deeper meaning, if you interpret them properly. Therefore, taking all of this into consideration, I feel that these lyrics could be considered poetic.
-Eric Pereira
Rise up this mornin',
ReplyDeleteSmiled with the risin' sun,
Three little birds
Pitch by my doorstep
Singin' sweet songs
Of melodies pure and true,
Sayin', ("This is my message to you-ou-ou:")
Singin': "Don't worry 'bout a thing,
'Cause every little thing gonna be all right."
I chose these lyrics because of the poetic devices in this like personification, imagery, rhyming, and similes. Also, the mood of these lyrics are very happy and upbeat. Another thing that would make these lyrics a great poem is how he describes how he lives and thinks.
-Mike Mele
Well i started out down i dirty road
ReplyDeleteSTarted out all alone
The sun went down as it crossed the hill
The town lit up, the world got still
I'm learning to fly but i ain't got wings
Coming down is the hardest thing
Well the good old days may not return
The rock might melt and the sea may burn
I'm learning to fly but i ain't got wings
Coming down is the hardest thing
Well, some say life will beat you down
Break your heart ,steal your crown
So i've started out for God knows where
I guess i'll know when i get there
I'm learning to fly around the clouds
What comes up must come down
I'm learning to fly but i ain't got wings
Coming down is the hardest thing
I'm learning to fly around the clouds
What comes up must come down
i'm learning to fly
I'm learning to fly
-Tom Petty's "learning to fly"
-I chose these lyrics because of how meaningful they are. I love how the song says that if certain things are ment to happen, they will happen.I feel that this song would be a very meaningful poem.
"Love of mine some day you will die
ReplyDeleteBut I'll be close behind
I'll follow you into the dark
No blinding light or tunnels to gates of white
Just our hands clasped so tight
Waiting for the hint of a spark
If Heaven and Hell decide
That they both are satisfied
Illuminate the NOs on their vacancy signs
If there's no one beside you
When your soul embarks
Then I'll follow you into the dark"
-I Will Follow You Into The Dark
By: Death Cab For Cutie
I chose these lyrics to be considered poetic for a few reasons. One reason is that the lyrics are set up with stanzas just like a poem would be. Another reason is in some sections of the lyrics there is a rhyme scheme like "If there is no one beside you when you soul embarks. Then I'll follow you into the dark." Also there is a metaphor in these lyrics. The metaphor is that Heaven and Hell are just like hotels and when they dont have any space left there is no where for you to go. Lastly, I chose these lyrics to be poetic because there is meaning to these lyrics. The meaning to these lyrics is that the bonds of friendship and love can never be split apart even through long spearation or death.

I chose these lyrics because they have a meaning and feelings just like a poem. A poetic device these lyrics use is a rhyme scheme:ABCDEFF. These lyrics also have a deeper meaning about why the leaves change. The artist is saying how she's changing and growing up and now she knows more. Many poems are about something more than is written and you have to figure out the meaning to really understand what the writer is trying to say.
Half my life
ReplyDeleteis in books' written pages
Lived and learned from fools and
from sages
You know it's true
All the things come back to you
Sing with me, sing for the year
Sing for the laughter, sing for the tears
Sing with me, if it's just for today
Maybe tomorrow, the good lord will take you away
Aerosmith's "Dream On"
-I Chose these lyrics because of how much they say about ny life.Everybody learn from doing smart things "sages" and by doing dumb things "fools". We all know that times get tough but you got to "sing through the tears" this one part in itself could be a poem.
